Tama Chipp

Hi friends, I’m Tama! I was born in Des Moines, IA & my family moved here in 1998 when I was 9 years old. Landed in Platteville, then on to Evans & finally Greeley which is where I went to high school, and then a short stint at UNC for forensic science. I eventually dropped out after three semesters to focus full time on my piercing career. I started my apprenticeship in 2007 when I was still in high school & was totally that weird kid with 10 facial piercings! After four years at Tainted Hearts Custom in Greeley I moved to Fort Collins, going from Refuge Tattoo, to Tobi’s Tattoo, Rocksteady and finally helping to open Parabrahma Tattoo Collective.

I didn’t realize until much later that my apprenticeship was insufficient, I was taught many improper methods & learned with poor quality mass produced jewelry. Over the years I’ve gone to great lengths to further my own education, such as taking online classes & seminars from the Association of Professional Piercers and networking with piercers around the world to trade and share information. I am also proud to say that since opening, La Rosa Tattoo has stocked nothing but industry leaders in high end body jewelry, all manufactured by hand here in the USA. Making all of these changes over the years was definitely difficult as a I had to unlearn many things, but it was done for the good of my clients. I love all of my clients & they deserve only the best. I am constantly learning & will never stop continuing my education!
